2009
After having already won the gold medal at the Landesmeisterschaft der Goldschmiede [National Goldsmiths’ Championship] in 2008, Thomas Gamper displayed world-class skills at the WorldSkills competition in Calgary, Canada: in a two-week competition for speed and precision, he won the silver medal in the field of the sixteen best goldsmiths of their countries. Together with Yun Tae Sik (gold for Korea) and Alexandre Concari (silver, too, for Brazil) he now stood on the winners’ podium.
The three medal winners prevailed against their competitors from Thailand, Japan, Finland, China, Iran, Portugal, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Great Britain, Norway, Sweden, Mexico, and Indonesia.
